An ancient immigrant who introduced weaving. Also written as Achi no O. The ancestor of the Ayanouji clan (Yamato no Ayanoji, → Han clan), one of the most influential immigrant clans of ancient times. According to the Nihon Shoki, in the 20th year of the reign of Emperor Ojin, he came to Japan with his son, Tsuka no Omi, and his party members from 17 prefectures. In the 37th year of the reign, he was sent to Kure with Tsuka no Omi in search of seamstresses, and returned to Japan in the 41st year of the reign with four women: Ehime, Otohime, Kurehatori, and Anahatori. On the way to Kinai, he presented Ehime to Munekata no Okami of Tsukushi, and the other three to Oosasaki no Mikoto (Emperor Nintoku). In addition, during the rebellion of Prince Sumiyoshi Naka when Emperor Richu ascended to the throne, he helped Emperor Richu escape from Kawachi to Yamato together with the Heguri and Mononobe clans and protected him. Due to this achievement, he was highly valued and, together with Wani, was in charge of the finances of the Imperial Court. In the Kojiki, he is written as Achikishi and is listed as the same person as Achi Naoki, but according to the later Sakanoue clan from the Nihon Shoki, Achi was the great-grandson of Emperor Ling of the Later Han Dynasty (→ Han), and moved to Taifang in Korea when the Later Han Dynasty fell, and then crossed over to Japan with seven people of different clans. Achi reported to Emperor Ojin, saying, "The people of Taifang, where I used to live, are all talented and talented, but recently they are between Baekje and Goguryeo and are in trouble about where to go, so I would like to invite them over." He sent an envoy to invite the people and naturalized them. Source: Encyclopaedia Britannica Concise Encyclopedia About Encyclopaedia Britannica Concise Encyclopedia Information |
