〘Noun〙 In the early Meiji period, this was an office that had jurisdiction over diplomacy, trade, territory, etc. It was established in leap April in 1868 ( Keio 4 ) as the successor to the Foreign Affairs Bureau. Its governors were Date Munenari and Sawa Nobuyoshi . In July of the following year (Meiji 2), the Dajokan system was revised and it became the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 〘名〙 明治初年、外交、貿易、領土などを管轄した官庁。慶応四年(一八六八)閏四月、外国事務局の後身として設置。知事は伊達宗城、沢宣嘉(のぶよし)が歴任。翌明治二年七月太政官制の改正により外務省となった。
