A town in Tokachi County, Hokkaido. Most of the town is made up of the Shiranuka Hills and the associated plateaus. The Nemuro Main Line and the Doto Expressway pass through the town. In the lowlands along the Urahoro River, dairy farming is practiced and beans, beets, and potatoes are produced.
