Kaiya - Kaikoku

Japanese: 海谷 - かいこく
Kaiya - Kaikoku
A valley-like landform on the continental shelf or shelf slope. There are various theories about its formation, such as the subsidence of a river valley on land or the result of undersea springs. It can be seen offshore of the Imizu River and the Jinzu River in Toyama Bay.
