This sutra describes how after a person dies, they are judged for their sins by ten kings. It is thought to be a false sutra that shows a mixture of Chinese folk beliefs and Buddhist beliefs. There are many versions, but the most widely circulated are the "Yemra King Juki Shishu Gyakushusei Shichigojo Jodo Sutra" from the Tang Dynasty and the "Jizo Bosatsu Hatsushin Inen Jikkyo Sutra" from the late Heian Period.
