Ocean earthquake

...The activity has also spread to eastern China, from Mongolia to the area around Lake Baikal. China has many records of major earthquakes since ancient times, but the 1668 Tancheng earthquake (Shandong Province) and the 1920 Haiyuan earthquake (Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, M 8.6, over 200,000 deaths) were particularly large. The 1556 Huaxian earthquake (Shaanxi Province) is also recorded to have killed over 830,000 people.
