A Chinese scholar in the late Ming Dynasty. His pen names were Zhenzhi and Wo Cun. His pen names included Zunyuan Jisou and Ryoan, named after his baptismal name Leon. He studied under Matteo Ricci and was baptized in 1610. In 1598 he became a Jinshi and worked for the Nanjing Ministry of Works, and in 1612 he became a junior minister at the Nanjing Taibo Temple (responsible for chariots, horses, and livestock). In addition to publishing Ricci's "Kunyu Bankoku Zenzu" and other works, he wrote many books and translations related to Western scholarship and Christianity. His translations of Clavius's astronomy and mathematics books, "Geometry of the Source" was Euclid's mathematics book, and his translations of Aristotle's physical science and logic books were "Huan You Quan" and "Ming Li Tan." "Tengaku Shokan" is a collection of books on Christianity, astronomy, geography, mathematics, and surveying. He also participated in the compilation of "Suitei Rekisho" but died before it was completed.
