〘Noun〙 A Buddhist term. An auspicious anniversary of a person's death that comes around every year after their death. It is also a word that refers to the number of times it occurs. The first full year after a person's death is called the first anniversary, and there are also other anniversaries, such as the third, seventh, thirteenth, seventeenth, twenty-third, twenty-seventh, thirty-third, fiftieth, and hundredth anniversaries, on which Buddhist memorial services are held.
