A conference held by the right wing of the Kuomintang, including Xie Zi, Zhang Ji, and Juzheng, at Biyun Temple in Xishan, Beijing, China, from late November to December 1925. Called the "Fourth Plenum," it resolved to expel Communist Party members and fire Soviet advisors. The party's Central Committee, where the left wing held real power at the time, invalidated the conference and expelled participants, but the right wing's counterattack continued, culminating in the Zhongshan Ship Incident. The Xishan Conference was the starting point for the split between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party. [Takahashi Yoshikazu] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
