Onoe Shouroku (first generation)

Japanese: 尾上松緑（初世） - おのえしょうろく

...Kabuki actor. Up to two generations. (1) First generation (1744-1815 | Enkyo 1-Bunka 12) First generation Onoe Matsusuke changed his name to Matsuroku in November 1809 (Bunka 6) at Edo Ichimura-za. Born in Osaka, he became a disciple of Onoe Kikugoro in 1755 (Horeki 5) and became Onoe Matsusuke in 1761. In July 1804 (Bunka 1) at Kawarazaki-za, he had a big hit with a quick change in "Tenjiku Tokubei Kokubanashi" and formed a pair with the author Tsuruya Nanboku IV, earning the nickname of ghost story actor. Other roles he played include Iwafuji in "Kagamiyama Kokyo no Nishikie"...

…歌舞伎俳優。2世まで。(1)初世(1744‐1815∥延享1‐文化12)　初世尾上松助が1809年(文化6)11月江戸市村座で松緑と改名した。大坂生れで1755年(宝暦5)尾上菊五郎の門弟となり，61年尾上松助となる。1804年(文化1)7月河原崎座の《天竺徳兵衛韓噺（てんじくとくべえいこくばなし）》の早替りで大当り，作者4世鶴屋南北とコンビを組み，怪談役者の異名をとる。ほかに《加賀見山旧錦絵（かがみやまこきようのにしきえ）》の岩藤など。…
