...Kabuki actor. Up to two generations. (1) First generation (1744-1815 | Enkyo 1-Bunka 12) First generation Onoe Matsusuke changed his name to Matsuroku in November 1809 (Bunka 6) at Edo Ichimura-za. Born in Osaka, he became a disciple of Onoe Kikugoro in 1755 (Horeki 5) and became Onoe Matsusuke in 1761. In July 1804 (Bunka 1) at Kawarazaki-za, he had a big hit with a quick change in "Tenjiku Tokubei Kokubanashi" and formed a pair with the author Tsuruya Nanboku IV, earning the nickname of ghost story actor. Other roles he played include Iwafuji in "Kagamiyama Kokyo no Nishikie"...
