Born: August 26, 1885 in Tokyo [Died] July 10, 1949. Tokyo Kabuki actor. Stage name Otowaya. Eldest son of the 5th Onoe Kikugorou. Real name Terashima Kozo. Inherited the name in 1903 as the 6th. Was a leading actor and female actor. Excellent in all roles, including period, side, dance, and new works. Founded the Japan Acting School and worked to train the next generation. A famous actor in the Taisho and Showa periods. Member of the Japan Art Academy. Immediately after his death, he was awarded the Order of Culture, the first person to receive the award posthumously.
