A river that flows through central Hunan Province, China, belonging to the Yangtze River (Changjiang) system. The Fuyi River, which originates in the south, flows from the southern part of Yuan County in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the Sha River, which originates in the north of Chengbu Miao Autonomous County in Hunan Province, joins the two rivers in Shaoyang City, flows north, passes through Xinhua, Anhua and other counties, turns east, passes through Yiyang City, and empties into Dongting Lake at Linzikou in Xiangyin County. The total length is 674 km. The west side of the river is bordered by mountains, and the upper and middle reaches form a meandering canyon. The Zhexi Dam has been constructed, and a hydroelectric power station is located there. Boats can pass through the downstream area from Taojiang County.
