Otonashigawa - Quiet River
[1] A legend that famous historical figures, through prayer or coercion, stopped the sound of the river. Also, a river with such a legend. [2][1] The name of a tributary of the upper reaches of the Kumano River in eastern Wakayama Prefecture. It was named after the area around Kumano Hongu Taisha Shrine, which was called Otonashi no Sato. It is the final purification site before visiting Kumano Taisha Shrine. Utamakura. [2] The name of the lower reaches of the Shakujii River in the southern Kita Ward of Tokyo. It was given the name of the upper reaches of the Kumano River because it flows near Oji Gongen, where Kumano Hongu Taisha Shrine was enshrined.
