...Iron meteorites, stony-iron meteorites, and achondrites belong to the latter category. Chondrites are classified into enstatite (E) chondrites, ordinary (O) chondrites (consisting of three types: H, L, and LL), and carbonaceous (C) chondrites, depending on the amount of metallic iron and total iron they contain. O chondrites are numbered from 1 to 6 according to the degree of thermal metamorphism after formation, and the number is added to the end of H, L, or LL, resulting in H6.

Chondrites are considered to be undifferentiated material from the early stage of the formation of the solar system because their chemical composition is similar to that of the sun, except for gas components such as H and He. The absolute age based on radioisotopes gives them an age of 4.55 to 4.65 billion years, which is older than rocks on the Earth and Moon, and older than other meteorites. For these reasons, chondrites are considered to be the original material of the solar system, including planets, moons, and meteorites. ...
