An epiphytic evergreen perennial fern of the Polypodiaceae family. Its name comes from its simple, spatula-shaped leaves. The rhizome is slender and somewhat long, creeping, with sparsely-growing leaves. The leaf blade is oblanceolate, 15-40 cm long, and gradually points to a pointed tip. The lower part of the leaf surface flows toward the midrib, and the petiole is very short and black-brown in color. There are pale gray scales at the base. The leaves are somewhat thick and leathery, and although the veins are not visible on the surface, they are joined together in a net-like pattern and contain sparse free veins. The sporangia are linear and form an acute angle of 15-25 degrees with the midrib. There is no insula. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
