Washi paper produced in Oguni-cho, Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture. The raw material is paper mulberry. The paper is stored under snow until it dries. In 1973, it was designated a national intangible cultural property, and the following year, it was designated a prefectural intangible cultural property. It is also called "Oguni paper."
