A town in Okushiri District, southwest Hokkaido. It occupies the entire Okushiri Island. Its main industry is fishing, but it also does livestock farming. A ferry runs from Esashi Port to Okushiri Port, the main settlement on the east coast. It suffered serious damage in the July 1993 Southwest Hokkaido Earthquake. 142.97 km2 . 3,033 people (2010).
