Japanese: 三雲[町] - みくも

An old town in Ichishi County, in the central eastern part of Mie Prefecture. The town's name comes from the area sandwiched between the Miwatari River and the Kumozu River. It lies in alluvial lowlands and faces Ise Bay to the east. Remains of the ancient jori system can be seen. Hoshiai, located along the old Ise Pilgrimage Route, appears in medieval travelogues and waka poetry. In addition to rice, strawberries and vegetables are cultivated, and seaweed is cultivated. In Onoe, there is the site of the birthplace of Matsuura Takeshiro, an explorer from the late Edo period. In January 2005, it was incorporated into Matsusaka City along with Ureshino Town in Ichishi County, Iinan Town in Iinan County, and Iitaka Town. 18.89 km ² . 11,468 people (2003). → Sone-sho / Sohara Mikuriya

三重県中東部，一志(いちし)郡の旧町。町名は三渡(みわたり)川と雲出(くもず)川に挟まれた地域に由来。沖積低地にあり，東は伊勢湾に面する。古代条里制遺構がみられる。旧伊勢参宮路沿いの星合(ほしあい)は，中世の紀行文や，和歌にその名がみえる。米作のほかイチゴや野菜を栽培，ノリ養殖が行われる。小野江に幕末の探検家松浦武四郎の生家跡がある。2005年１月一志郡嬉野町，飯南郡飯南町，飯高町と松阪市へ編入。18.89km²。１万1468人（2003）。→曾禰荘／蘇原御厨
