…In 1907, he became a member of the magazine "Myojo" and began writing poetry. In 1909, he participated in the launch of "Subaru" magazine. He then began full-scale creative activities, publishing a series of works, including "Aramebashi," a novel depicting the feelings of an aesthetic enthusiast, "Nanbanjimonzen," a symbolic drama of Nanban Christian tastes (both in 1909), and "Izumiya Dye Shop," an emotional drama of Edo tastes (1911), which had a considerable influence on the aestheticism of the time. At the same time, he founded the Pan no Kai (Bread Society) with Kitahara Hakushu, Nagata Hideo, Ishii Hakutei, and Yamamoto Tei, and became involved in the whirlpool of aesthetic enjoyment.
