Born on March 26, 1902. Worked at the National Leprosy Sanatorium Nagashima Aiseien, treating leprosy patients and examining outpatients. Her memoir of her experiences, "Kojima no Haru," published in 1938, became a bestseller and was made into a movie. Died on April 29, 1943. Age 42. Born in Yamanashi Prefecture.
