Cummingtonite (Cummingtonite)

Also called cummingtonite. A type of amphibole, it is a mineral with the chemical composition (Mg,Fe 2+ ) 7 Si 8 O 22 (OH) 2. It usually refers to a mineral with an Fe 2+ /(Mg + Fe 2+ ) ratio of 0.3 to 0.69, with those with a ratio of 0.7 or more called grunerite (also called iron ore) and those with a ratio of 0.29 or less called magnesium cummingtonite. カミングトン角セン石ともいう。角セン石の一つで，化学組成は(Mg,Fe2＋)7Si8O22(OH)2と表される鉱物。ふつうFe2＋/(Mg＋Fe2＋)の比が0.3～0.69のものをいい，0.7以上はグリューネセン石grunerite(鉄セン石ともいう)，0.29以下はマグネシウムカミングトンセン石magnesiocummingtoniteと区別して呼ばれる。少量のCa,Mn,Alなどを含む場合が多い。
