The geometry of motion does not consider the effect of forces on the motion of an object, but only describes the state of motion. Kinematics deals with the various ways of expressing an object's position, displacement (change in position), velocity, acceleration, trajectory (path of motion), etc., and the relationships between them. The motion of an object that does not deform can be considered as translational motion, in which all points on the object describe parallel paths, and rotational motion, in which each point moves at the same angular velocity on a concentric sphere centered on a single point.
