A perennial plant of the orchid family (APG classification: Orchidaceae). Also called Noyamatombo. The tuberous root thickens into a spindle shape. The flower stalk is 30-60 cm tall. There are four to a dozen leaves, arranged alternately on the stem. From June to July, the terminal inflorescence produces 10-30 yellow-green flowers, each about 1 cm in diameter. They have a slender spur about 1 cm long. They grow in forests in warm areas west of the Kanto region, and are also found in the Korean peninsula and China.
