Ohashi style

〘Noun〙 A school of the Oie-ryu style. This style of calligraphy was started by Ohashi Shigeyasu (Ryukei) and his son Shigemasa, and was widely used for official documents because Shigemasa was a shogunate official. *Haiku poem, Saikaku Oyakazu (1681), No. 5: "I leave the white dew on the paper and then fix my hand. 〘名〙 御家流(おいえりゅう)の一派。大橋重保（龍慶）、その子重政の始めた書風で、重政が幕府の書吏であったため公文書に広く用いられた。※俳諧・西鶴大矢数（1681）第五「白露を置て見てから手を直す 大橋流の筆をおっとり」
