Japanese: 上富田[町] - かみとんだ

A town in Nishimuro County in southern Wakayama Prefecture. It borders Tanabe City to the northwest, and the Tomita River flows southwest through the center. It produces flowers, strawberries, and vegetables. Asso, the main settlement along the Tomita River, is the junction of the Kumano Kaido's Oheji (National Route 42) and Nakaheji (National Route 311), and has long been a key transportation hub. The town is served by the Kisei Main Line and the Kisei Expressway. Area: 57.37 ^km2 . Population: 14,807 (2010).
