...However, due to the conflict between the direct action faction led by Kotoku and the parliamentary policy faction led by Katayama Sen, Nishikawa, and Tazoe Tetsuji, and the banning of the Japan Socialist Party, the magazine ceased publication just three months later on April 14, 1907 (issue no. 75). After that, the movement led by Kotoku was succeeded by the Osaka Commoner Newspaper (later renamed the Japanese Commoner Newspaper) edited by Morichika Unpei in June of the same year, but it ceased publication in May 1908 (issue no. 23). In addition, Osugi Sakae and Arahata launched the monthly Commoner Newspaper on October 15, 1914, but faced harsh repression with the sale of every issue being banned, and it ceased publication with the 6th issue in March of the following year. ...
