...The lyrics were written by Hirase Okina, Uda Bunkai, Ikuta Nansui, Shokumin Nanboku and others, and it continued as a specialty of Osaka until it was discontinued during the war in 1937. In 1950, it was revived after the war as "Osaka Odori", a joint performance by the four Osaka brothels, but from the fourth performance, Nanchi was the only one to perform. Other Osaka geisha dances that competed for beauty included "Hokuyo Naniwa Dance", "Shinmachi Naniwa Dance", and "Horie Konohana Dance", but of these, "Ashibe Dance" remained until the end....
