...A descendant of Muto Yorihira, a bureaucrat from the early days of the Kamakura Shogunate. In 1189 (Bun'ei 5), Yorihira's eldest son, Sukeyori, was appointed land steward of Oizumisho in Dewa Province, which was under the jurisdiction of the Chokodo Domain. His second son, Ujihira, then inherited the position, and the Oizumi clan, vassals of Dewa Province, took Oizumisho as their family name. During the Nanboku-cho period, Oizumi Nagamori built a castle at Daihoji (Daibonji, Daibonji, Daihoji) in Oizumisho, and took the name Daihoji. After that, they continued to call themselves the Oizumi clan and the Muto clan. ...
