A former town in Ihara County in central Shizuoka Prefecture. The mountains approach Suruga Bay, and Yui, which developed as a post town on the Tokaido coast, is at the center of the town. The Tokaido Main Line passes through the town. Mandarin orange cultivation is thriving, and Sakura shrimp is a specialty of the town. There is a Satsuma Pass.
