But it remains a mountain of faith, and the sight of people clad in white robes, leaning on kongo staffs and chanting "purification of the six senses" as they climb continues to this day. There are four hiking trails: Otaki Trail, Kurosawa Trail, Kaida Trail, and Nigorigo Onsen Trail. At the Otaki and Kurosawa trails, there are mountain huts at each station, and numerous stone structures are enshrined along the trail.
