Ogita

This is the central district of the Hinaimachi region of Odate City in northern Akita Prefecture. The former Ogidamachi became Hinaimachi in 1955 (Showa 30), but was incorporated into Odate City in 2005 (Heisei 17). It flourished as a river port on the Yoneshiro River, and was a key location for land and water transportation, with the Kazuno Kaido and other routes passing through it as a distribution center for goods, as it is located on the side of the Ushu Kaido road. JR Hanawa Line Ogida Station is located here, and national highways 103 and 285 pass through the area.

秋田県北部、大館市(おおだてし)比内町(ひないまち)地域の中心地区。旧扇田町は1955年（昭和30）に比内町となったが、2005年（平成17）大館市に編入。米代(よねしろ)川の河港として栄え、また羽州街道の脇(わき)として鹿角(かづの)街道などが通じる水陸交通の要地で、物資の集散地であった。JR花輪線扇田駅があり、国道103号、285号が通じる。
