Japanese: 花魁道中 - おいらんどうちゅう

〘 noun 〙 In the Edo period, the term was used by high-ranking geisha in famous brothels to go to teahouses and other places within the brothels to greet their regular customers. It also referred to the procession of high-ranking geisha and prostitutes on specific days within the brothels. ※Seiyo Dochu Hizakurige (1870-76)〈Kanagaki Robun〉6 " Oirandauchiu eight characters, the sound of the clogs stepping out of the heart is the sound of the shoes stepping out in a cross pattern ."
