C ₂₀ H ₂₆ O ₆ (362.41). Highly oxygenated diterpene with a B-secokaurane skeleton. Bitter component of Isodon japonicus and I. trichocarpus . The stems and leaves of these two plants are used as bitter stomach medicines. Anticancer properties against Ehrlich ascites cancer and effective against gram-positive bacteria. Insect growth inhibitor. Bitter even when diluted 400,000 times with water. Structure determined by Kubota et al. (1966). Melting point 297-299 °C (decomposition). -156 ° (acetone). [CAS 3776-39-4]

C₂₀H₂₆O₆(362.41)．B-セコカウラン骨格をもち，高度に酸素化されたジテルペン．シソ科ヒキオコシIsodon japonicusおよびクロバナヒキオコシI.trichocarpusの苦味成分．この2種類の植物の茎葉は，生薬延命草として苦味健胃薬に用いられる．エールリヒ腹水がんに対して抗がん性を示し，グラム陽性菌に有効である．昆虫の成長抑制剤．40万倍に水で希釈しても苦味をもつ．久保田ら(1966年)によって構造が決定された．融点297～299 ℃(分解)．－156°(アセトン)．[CAS 3776-39-4]
