Enchiu - Enchiu

...There is a strong theory that prehistoric shell mounds and bone mounds were ritual sites based on such Ainu ideas. Shamanism (witchcraft), which includes animism in its system, is also known, and is particularly prominent among the Enchiu (Kakhaline Ainu) of Sakhalin Island. Shamans, called tusu‐kur (witchcraft person), could be either male or female, and treated illnesses, healed mental pain, and divined good and bad fortune.
