Akimoto Shitomo - Akimoto Yukitomo

Japanese: 秋元志朝 - あきもとゆきとも

1820-1876 A daimyo in the late Edo period.
Born on March 8, 1820. The eighth son of Mori Hiroshige, lord of Tokuyama Domain in Suo (Yamaguchi Prefecture). He was adopted by Akimoto Hisatomo, and in 1830 he became the fourth head of the Akimoto family to rule Yamagata Domain in Dewa. In 1840 he was transferred to Tatebayashi in Kozuke (Gunma Prefecture), becoming the first head of the Akimoto family to rule Tatebayashi Domain. He served as a mediator between the Imperial Court and the Shogunate, but was suspected by the shogunate and ordered to live in seclusion. After the Meiji Restoration, he served as deputy head of the Imperial Mausoleum. He died on July 26, 1876, at the age of 57.

文政3年3月8日生まれ。周防(すおう)(山口県)徳山藩主毛利広鎮(もうり-ひろしげ)の8男。秋元久朝の養子となり,天保(てんぽう)10年出羽(でわ)山形藩主秋元家4代。弘化(こうか)2年上野(こうずけ)(群馬県)館林(たてばやし)に転封(てんぽう),館林藩主秋元家初代となる。公武間の斡旋(あっせん)につとめたが,幕府から嫌疑をうけ蟄居(ちっきょ)を命じられた。維新後は山陵副管をつとめた。明治9年7月26日死去。57歳。
