He translated the Encyclopedia Chomel (originally written by the Frenchman M. Noel Chomel, translated into Dutch by de Charmot) and wrote Gefeizhisetsu, which described the benefits of coffee, and Engelisushiyarienkou, which described the effectiveness of magnesium sulfate as a laxative.
