〘Noun〙 A subdivision of the accounting department of the Shimokanjosho (Lower Accounting Office) of the Edo Shogunate. Its duties included the collection of new taxes, increases, and exemptions for the various provinces' taxes, contributions, and tax levies, as well as the investigation of the taxes of various provinces and the maintenance of related accounts.
