Ibn Wahhab

…Due to his passionate and scholarly interest in the East, he collected information from merchants and travelers and wrote a record of China and India, “Tales of China and India” (c. 916). This book includes the records of the merchant Sulayman, who wrote about his voyage to India and China in c. 851, and the observations of Ibn Wahhab, who arrived in Khumdan (Chang'an), the capital of China, from Shiraf in 870. The historian Masudi wrote that he received a lot of information about China from the author in 916. …
