...It is a work that follows the tradition of the Tiannan Huayu Wai Ji, the first long historical poem written in the national language at the end of the 17th century. In 1858, the 11th year of the reign of the Nguyen Dynasty, this work, which had been handed down under the title Records of the Grand Historian (Song of the Grand Historian in Mandarin), was revised by Le Ngo Cat and others, who added new history to it and revised it into the 1,916-line Viet Nam History in Mandarin. Pham Xuan Qué then revised it into the 1,887-line Viet Nam History in Mandarin. Pham Dinh Toai and Pham Dinh Thoc further revised and revised it into a 2,054-line poem, which was engraved in 1870. Generally speaking, the translation of Chinese prose into Vietnamese verse is called en'on, and the work was called enka, but since the country was called Dainan at the time, this work was given the name "Dainan Kokushi Enka." The rhyme is considered to be one of the most elegant and clear-sounding among enka of the Nguyen dynasty, but it is considered to be a little difficult to understand compared to enka, which is essentially a form of singing literature.

…17世紀末に民族語によって書かれた最初の歴史長編詩《天南語録外紀》の流れを引くもので，グエン朝嗣徳11年(1858)，《史記国語歌》の題名で伝わっていたこの書をレ･ゴ･カット(黎呉吉)らが校訂し，新たにレ朝の歴史を加えて《越史国語》1916行に改稿，その後これにファム･スアン･クエ(范春桂)が手を加えて《越史国語潤正》1887行の長編詩として成ったものに，さらにファム･ディン･トアイ(范廷倅)やファム･ディン･トック(范廷植)らが推敲や修訂を加えて2054行の長編詩として完成し，1870年に板刻された。一般に中国語の散文をベトナム語の韻文に訳すことを演音といい，その作品を演歌と称したが，当時，国を大南と号したところから《大南国史演歌》の名が付けられた。その韻律はグエン朝の演歌の中で特にみやびやかで明晰（めいせき）な語句を用いているものに数えられるが，本来，唱曲文芸としての性格をもつ演歌の中ではやや難解な作品とされる。…
