An abbreviation for medium density fiberboards. Fiberboards made by mechanically breaking down wood into fibers (defibrating it), adding adhesive, molding it, and then applying pressure and heat to produce fiberboards with a density of 400 to 800 kg m -3 . Fiberboards with a higher density are called hardboards, and those with a lower density are called soft fiberboards (insulation boards). They are mainly used as wall materials, and production is increasing worldwide. Source: Morikita Publishing "Chemical Dictionary (2nd Edition)" Information about the Chemical Dictionary 2nd Edition |
