Emanations (volcanic and metalliferous)

The name given to volatile substances that come out of cooling magma [Elie de Beaumont: 1847]. It is the same as exhalation. It is the name given to gas or hydrothermal solution with a large amount of energy that has dissolved a large amount of alkali or other volatile substances.
