Evenki Autonomous District - Evenki Autonomous District

The most populated area is the area between the Nizhnyaya Tunguska and Podkamennaya Tunguska rivers, which are tributaries of the Yenisei. In 1930, the Evenki Ethnic District (767,600 km2 in area, renamed the Evenki Autonomous District in 1977) was established here. The Evenki people who live in this Autonomous District are mainly engaged in fur production and reindeer breeding.
