Drin Drugs - Drinzai

A type of organochlorine insecticide, a general term for cyclic diene insecticides. Synthesized by the Diels-Alder reaction, examples include aldrin, dieldrin, and endrin. They are stable in alkaline conditions, and when mixed with alkaline pesticides and fertilizers, they are effective in eliminating soil pests. However, because they are highly residual and have extremely high toxicity (TL _m value) to freshwater fish, their manufacture and use are regulated by the Agricultural Chemicals Control Law. Currently, only endosulfan (LD ₅₀ 80-100 mg/kg (rat, oral)) remains registered.

有機塩素系殺虫剤の一種で，環状ジエン殺虫剤の総称．ディールス-アルダー反応により合成され，アルドリン，ディルドリン，エンドリンなどがある．アルカリに安定で，アルカリ性の農薬や肥料と混用すると土壌害虫の駆除に効果がある．しかし，残留性が高く，淡水魚に対する毒性(TL_m 値)がきわめて強いので，農薬取締法によりその製造・使用が規制されている．現在，エンドスルファン(LD₅₀ 80～100 mg/kg(ラット，経口))のみが登録に残っている．
