Esodamashi - Esodamashi

...They are caught with bottom trawls and used as raw materials for fish cakes and other paste products. A similar species, A. damasi , appears in the waters off Japan, but this species can be distinguished by the fact that the eye diameter is smaller than the snout length (Aulopodidae is larger). There are about seven species of Aulopodidae fish known from all over the world, all of which live on the sea floor on the continental shelf in temperate to tropical regions.
