A feudal lord of the early modern period. Born in Mikawa Province. He served Tokugawa Ieyasu, but in 1603 (Keicho 8) during the time of Hisari, he was assigned to Ieyasu's son Yorinobu and became a retainer of the Kishu Tokugawa family. In 1716 (Kyoho 1) during the time of Kano Hisamichi, he returned to being a retainer of the shogun when Yoshimune became shogun. His stipend was increased repeatedly thereafter, reaching 10,000 koku in 1726, and later 13,000 koku. In 1826 (Bunsei 9) during the time of Hisatomo, the jin'ya was moved to Kazusa Ichinomiya, and continued until the end of the Edo period. The head of the family was appointed to positions such as Jugo Ieyasu and Totomi no Kami. Many of his family members were appointed to important positions such as aides and young councilors.
