〘Noun〙 Under the Yoro Code, these were non-rent fields established to cover the various expenses of post stations. They were cultivated by post stations . The size of the fields varied depending on the size of the post station. Under the Taiho Code, these were station-raised fields. ※Ryo Gikai (718) states, "Generally, post stations were given fields. All were provided in the vicinity. Four cho for the main road, three cho for the middle road, and two cho for the small road."
