Droplet model - Ekitekimokei

A semi-empirical model of the atomic nucleus based on the similarity to a liquid drop, such as the fact that the nuclear force acting between the nucleons that make up the nucleon is short-range and saturable, and the existence of a surface. According to this model, nuclear fission can be semi-qualitatively explained as occurring as the limit of nuclear deformation caused by the collective vibration of nucleons. It has played an important role in advancing our understanding of nuclear structure, including providing a formula for determining the mass of the nucleus. It was proposed by H. Bethe and C. F. von Weizsäcker in 1935, and by N. Bohr in 1936.

核を構成する核子間にはたらく核力が，短距離性でかつ飽和性を示すことや，表面の存在など，液滴との類似性をもとにする原子核の半経験的モデル．このモデルによれば，核分裂は核子の集団的振動が引き起こす核の変形の極限として起こると半定性的に説明できる．核の質量を与える公式など，核構造の理解を進めるうえで重要な役割を果たした．H. BetheとC.F.von Weizsäckerが1935年に，N. Bohr(ボーア)が1936年に提唱した．
