...The cost to Japan is said to be between 500,000 and 1 million ryo. As a result, the 12th mission was postponed due to the Tenmei famine, and the location of the mission was changed to Tsushima, and it was finally carried out in 1811 (Ichi Heirei). Although the dispatch of envoys was planned many times after that, it was postponed due to financial difficulties and external pressure, and the Meiji Restoration came without it being realized.

...But the situation remained largely unchanged, and the domain was left with a huge debt when it was abolished. Also, new problems arose in Korean diplomacy, such as the exchange of diplomatic letters on Tsushima in 1811 (Bunka 8), and the advance of Western powers into Asia led to the occupation of Tsushima by Russian warships in 1861 (Bunkyu 1). This intensified internal conflict within the domain, leading to the Hyakuyappai Incident in 1800 (Kansei 12) and the Katsui Disturbance in 1864 (Genji 1).
