Lipotropin

Also known as fat mobilizing hormone. A peptide hormone synthesized and secreted in the anterior pituitary gland, there are beta-lipotropin and gamma-lipotropin. It is synthesized from a precursor (proopiomelanocortin) that is common to adrenocorticotropic hormone and other hormones, and is produced by processing after synthesis. 脂肪動員ホルモンともいう．下垂体前葉で合成分泌されるペプチドホルモンで，βリポトロピンとγリポトロピンがある．副腎皮質刺激ホルモンなどと共通の前駆体（プロオピオメラノコルチン）として合成され，合成後のプロセッシングによって生成する．脂肪細胞に作用して脂肪分解を促進する．
