...There are three species of red-winged grasshoppers in Japan. The similar C. nupta, C. nupta , lives mainly in central and northern Honshu, where its larvae live on poplar and poplar trees. The red-winged C. dula, C. dula , lives on Japanese oak, Kunugi, and Kashiwa.
